Italian Libya Medal, WWII Period.

Established in 1913 for Italian troops who participated in the Italo-Turkish War (1911-1912) and the subsequent campaigns in Libya.

However, this particular example dates from World War II.

During World War II, Libya was a key theater of war in the North African campaign.

Italian troops fought alongside the German Afrika Korps.

Although this medal predates the major fighting of World War II, it was still awarded to veterans and personnel who served in the colony.
