US, 28th ID Tunic & helmet

Jacket and helmet for a blacksmith corporal of the 28th Infantry Division, Keystone / Bloody Bucket Division.
This division fought during WWI at Meuse-Argonne, Champagne-Marne, Yper, among others.
The jacket is in good condition with a small hole on the back, see photo.
Complete with the Collar-Discs on the collar, left arm the emblem of the 28th ID and right arm corporal stripes and blacksmith emblem.
The closing hooks on the collar are missing, but this is not disturbing.

The helmet is a British Brodi that was provided upon the arrival of the US troops as the US had not yet finished production of its own helmets. Approximately 1.5 million British helmets were provided to the first American troops in Europe.
The helmet is in very nice condition with “sand finish” and has the Brodi manufacturer’s stamp and is marked H.V.630.
Also provided with the name Rhoads on both sides.
Very nice set of a special regiment that fought heavily in WW1.
